<p>Described herein is an improved process for preparing poly(aryl ether ketone)s by reacting a mixture of at least one bisphenol and at least one dihalobenzenoid compound or halophenol, wherein the improvement comprises providing to the reaction, a combination of sodium carbonate and/or bicarbonate and an alkali metal halide selected from potassium, rubidium or cesium fluoride or chloride, or combinations thereof.</p> |
