PURPOSE:To contrive a smaller and lighter recorder and a shorter recording time, by a construction wherein the outer circumference of a drum is shorter than the overall length of a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper 1 is inserted along a paper guide 5, and when a leading end part of the paper 1 comes to a notched part of the drum 2, it is detected by a detecting means, and the leading end part is fixed by a paper holder 3. The drum 2 is turned in the direction of arrow A, is momentarily stopped when a recording-starting position (a) of the paper 1 comes to the position of a thermal recording head 10, a recording-starting position of an ink sheet 7 is matched to the position of the head 10, the head 10 is pressed against the drum 2 through the ink sheet 7 and the paper 1, then rotation of the drum 2 is restarted, and a recording signal is inputted to the head 10 to operate heating elements to heat, thereby recording. When a recording-finishing position (b) of the paper 1 comes to the position of the head 10, rotation of the drum 2 is stopped, the head 10 is stopped recording, and is released from the condition of being pressed against the drum 2. Though recording is thus finished in the case of monochromic recording, recording is similarly conducted in the second color and the third color in the case of color recording. |
