PURPOSE:To obtain a halogen-free composition forming an ashed layer having high heat-insulation effect in a flame and exhibiting excellent flame-retardance, by compounding an olefin resin with hydrated alumina or hydrated magnesia, a specific red phosphorus, and a specific furnace black. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) 100pts.(wt.) of a polyolefin resin with (B) 50-300pts. of hydrated alumina and/or hydrated magnesia, (C) 3-40pts., preferably 5-12pts. of red phosphorus containing >=80% red phosphorus, having a drying loss of <=0.8% and an oversize of <=7% on a 74 mesh sieve and coated with a thermosetting resin, and (D) 3-50pts., preferably 5-15pts. of furnace black having a DBP absorption of 100-160cm<3>/100g and recognized as N330-N351 by ASTM code. The component A is a straight-chain low-density polyethylene having a density of 0.91-0.96 and an MI of 0.1-10. |
