PURPOSE:To eliminate core deviation and to make an efficient connection by pressing and connecting the reference surface of a connection head against and to the reference surface of a sleeve side. CONSTITUTION:A square hole 12 parallel to an axis is provided to a cylindrical sleeve 11 where the connection head 1 is received and fixed, and two lower surfaces of the hole 12 is held accurately at 90 deg. and regarded as reference surfaces of connection. A couple of screw holes are provided to the upper side of the sleeve 11 on a line which divides the angle of 90 deg. that said two surfaces contain. A couple of heads 1 and 1 are received from both opening ends of a through hole 12 and their connection end surfaces are placed in abutting relation; and recessed groove parts 1d of cylindrical parts of the heads 1 are pressed with screws 14 and 14 and cylindrical surfaces of the heads 1 as reference surfaces are pressed against and fixed to reference surfaces of the holes 12. Therefore, external diameters of the cylindrical parts of the heads 1 and 1 are coincident accurately with each other and the cores of optical fibers are in the centers of the cylinders, so the centers of the cores 3 are aligned correctly to each other. |
