PURPOSE:To reduce the degree of inclination of each storing portion by pushing an article to be carried out by a dummy standing by on entry side to carry out the article, and collecting the dummy from a delivery line through a return line on the delivery side in a multistage multi-row storing rack with a down inclination conveyer. CONSTITUTION:Carried-in articles fed to the carry-in side 2 through entry lines 10, 11, 12 are sorted 26 to be stored in the respective storing portions 5. When a delivery command is given, dummies standing by in dummy standby lines 20, 21 are fed into the designated storing portions 5 through entry stations 15, 16. Thus, the articles in the storing portions 5 are pushed to the carry-out side 3 by the dummies to be carried out by a carry-out device 40. Lastly, the dummies are carried out by the carry-out device 40, and the dummies are separated by a detector 64 to be returned to the standby lines 20, 21 through a return line 60. In this arrangement, an angle of inclination of a conveyer can be reduced to improve the storing efficiency.
