PURPOSE:To enhance accuracy in analyzing a form element and to make possible word dictionary registration easily by adapting the degree of a roughness and a finess of a classification of parts of speech for a word dictionary and a connecting table at every parts of speech subjected to the form element analysis to a type of a word to decide them. CONSTITUTION:The form element analyzing program of a form element analyzing program section 1 takes out the unprocessed section of an input sentence from an input character train storing section 2 from a top thereof. A word (group) conciding w ith the top section is read referring to a word dictionary 3. At this time, when there are words (verbs, adjectives, adjective verbs), since in the word dictionary 3, only a root of a word is registered, by referring to the conjugation ending of word table 4, the conjugation ending of a word is added. Whether the word obtained by this operation can be connected to a word obtained by a previous cycle as a Japanese sentence or not is judged by referring to a connecting table 5 at every parts of speech. If they can be connected, they are outputted to an output word train storing section 6 and if they cannot be connected, a similar processing is done to another word candidate.
