PRODUCTION OF LIQUID CRYSTAL CELL

PURPOSE:To improve the grade of a display by sealing the liquid crystal injection holes formed between glass substrates while maintaining the pressurized state in such a manner that the spaces for liquid crystal injection formed between the substrates are made uniform over the entire region thereof. CONSTITUTION:Plural sheets of cell plates 10 are superposed and are pressed by pressing jigs 11 to straighten the cell plates 10. The glass substrates 1, 2 constitute the cell plates straightened to the plane having the uniform space during the time when the pressure is maintained. Cushioning members 12 are interposed to the top and bottom surfaces of the plates 10 during the straightening operation of the plates 10 by the jigs 11. The members 12 are made preferably of flat plate-shaped rubber, etc. and are so positioned as to cover the entire region of the plates 10 except apertures 6 for liquid crystal injection. A liquid crystal 5 may be injected into the cells prior to the straightening of the deformation of the plates 10 by the jigs 11. The uniform space is maintained over the entire part of the plates 10 while the liquid crystal 5 is held filled in the plates by the pressure straightening of the cells and therefore the apertures 6 are sealed by an adhesive agent for sealing while the pressurized state is maintained.
