PURPOSE:To enable sheets to be positively separated one by one by allowing the sheet contacting section of a sheet stopper to be made of a contacting material with a high frictional coefficient where the stopper prevents a group of sheets with exception of one sheet from being transferred while the stopper comes in contact with the group of sheets. CONSTITUTION:A part of sheet groups is transferred to the position of a separat ing roller 26 passing through underneath a slit plate 23 where the lowermost sheet S1 is handled to be separated, and is transferred to No.2 transfer roller 30 by means of a separating belt 25. In this case, a sheet stopper 29 is in No.1 position which does not interfere the transfer of the sheet. Subsequently, a link 27A and 27B is pulled by a solenoid 28 allowing the pressure contact by the separating roller 26 to be released. Simultaneously, the tip end 29A of the sheet stopper 29 is rotated clockwise while it is pushed by the side of the swing ing link 27A allowing the tip end to move to No.2 position. Under this condition, the lower side of the sheet stopper 29 holds the top end of following sheet groups other than the sheet S1 preventing the sheet groups from passing through underneath the separating roller 26. |
