PURPOSE:The title composition that contains an alkyl silicate which is hydro lyzed using a specific solvent as a spreading agent and zinc dust as an anticorro sive pigment, thus showing good drying properties, high adhesion and high storage stability. CONSTITUTION:A solvent which has more than 50 solubility in water, preferably an alcohol, ketone and/or ether is used as a solvent for dissolving an alkyl silicate to effect hydrolysis of the alkyl silicate is 75-98wt%, the acid concentration is more than 0.001 equivalent/liter or higher based on the alkyl silicate and the hydrolysis reaches 75-100%. Then, a solvent is added to set to concentration of the alkyl silicate to less than 60wt% and the product is used as a spreading agent and combined with zinc dust as an anticorrosive pigment.
