PURPOSE:To improve a reproduced output by forming a sputtered film of 'Sendust(R)' consisting of Al, Si and Fe on an oxide substrate. CONSTITUTION:The 'Sendust(R)' layers and insulating layers are alternately laminated on the sputtered film to be formed on the nonmagnetic substrate 10 consisting of MnO-NiO. The thin sputtered film is composed, by atomic % of, 3-7% Al, 7-11% Si and 82-90% Fe or of 4.5-6.5% Al, 8.0-10.5% Si and 83-87% Fe in order to obtain the higher magnetic permeability and is formed in 0.5-30mum thickness. The thin sputtered film is made into multiple layers to improve the frequency characteristics of the magnetic permeability. The thickness of the 'Sendust(R)' layers 11-16 is 0.5-10mum and the thickness of the insulating layers 17-20 is 0.02-1.0mum. The size of the crystal grains of the 'Sendust(R)' to be grown by subjecting a magnetic head to a heat treatment is adequately 0.3-1.0mum. The high reproduced output is thus obtd. even if a medium having high coercive force is used.
