NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (X, Y, Z are H, Cl, methyl; A is H, Cl). EXAMPLE:N-(2-Chloro-4-nitrophenyl)-2,5-dimethylbenzenesulfonamide. USE:A fungicide for agricultural purposes. It has a wide range of fungicidal spectrum and develops high activity with a low dose and reduced influence on environment and is used as a fungicide against soil diseases. Especially, it is used to control clubroots in Curciferae vegetables, common scub in potatos and soil diseases caused by a variety of Aphanomyces. PREPARATION:The reaction between a compound of formula II and another compound of formula III is carried out in the presence of a base such as pyridine or sodium hydroxide in a solvent such as toluene and chlorobenzene at 110-180 deg.C for 5-15 hours to give a compound of formula I.
