PURPOSE:To adjust th tension of an endless screen, allow drying chrinkage of laver and prevent the breaking of the laver by the drying shrinkage, by stopping the running of the endless screen temporarily when the laver extended on the endless screen is dried and shrunk. CONSTITUTION:A laver dryer, capable of drying laver 11 extended on an endless screen 2 while running the endless screen 2 in a wavy form in a drying roo 5, shrinking freely the endless screen 2 in the longitudinal direction thereof with the drying shrinkage of the laver 11, and detecting the displacement of the endless screen 2 due to the shrinkage thereof with detectors (LSb)-(LSe). Power transmission parts (23b)-(23e) are connected to the above-mentioned detectors (LSb)-(LSe), and the power transmission parts (23b)-(23e) are connected or disconnected by turning on or off of the detectors (LSb)-(LSe). As a result, the running of the endless screen 2 is temporarily stopped when the laver 11 extended on the endless screen 2 is dried and shrunk to adjust the tension of the endless screen 2 and allow the drying shrinkage of the laver 11. Thus, the breaking of the laver 11 by drying shrinkage can be prevented. |
