PURPOSE:To miniaturize the external form of a device body, by arranging a printer section in the lower position of the shift passage of a carriage means in a scanner section at an end along with the lengthy direction of the device body and setting it substantially in parallel with the scanning direction of the scanner section and the carrier direction of the material to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:When a first carriage 10 forming a carriage means performs the scan operation, a traveling shift passage 10 is in parallel with this immediately below an original placing plate 3, and extended over also to the back end of the device body 1 along with the lengthy direction of the device body 1. At the back end of the device body 1, a printer section 19 is arranged. In particular, the arranging position is set to the lower position of a shift passage 10a of a first carriage making a carriage means of a scanner section 9. This utilizes a back lower area 20 of the scanner section that remains left as dead space, the printer section 19 gets in this area 20, the uselessness of the dead space is made little, and the shortening of the size in the lengthy direction of the device body 1 is permitted. |
