PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp image having small transfer scattering by providing an electrostatic attracting means which attracts a transfer material to a transfer material support electrostatically and a pressing means for the front end of a thin-film transfer material which prevents the front end of the transfer material from contacting an image carrier during transfer operation. CONSTITUTION:The transfer material attracting means is constituted by combining a conductive roller 28 which is arranged at the outside of the transfer material support body 11 so as to contact the outside surface of the transfer material support 11 only during transfer material supply operation with a corona discharger 26 which is arranged at the inside of transfer material support 11 so as to face the conductive roller 28. The thin film type transfer material pressing member 21 is interposed between the front end part of the transfer material P and the image carrier 1 to prevent the front end part of the transfer material P from contacting the image carrier 1 directly, and consequently the transfer material P is separated from the transfer material support body 1 stably during transfer material separation after transfer operation without moving together with the image carrier 1. |
