PURPOSE:To reduce mutual interfernce among reproduction signals when each head causes tracking displacement by recording an FM illuminance signal and each FM color difference signal on respective tracks corresponding to each pair of rotary heads. CONSTITUTION:An illuminance signal and color difference signals I and Q of terminals 26-28 are respectively frequency-modulated by frequency modulators 32-34 and recorded on respective tracks, which are separated in tape width direction of a magnetic tape 15, via rotary heads H1 and H2, H3 and H4, and H5 and H6, respectively. At the time of reproduction, a specified track on the tape are reciprocally scanned by one field by means of H1 and Hw, and after a recorded FM illuminance signal is reproduced, it is fed to an FM demodulator 41. Similarly, the FM color difference signals I and Q are reproduced, using the heads H3 and H4, or the heads H5 and H6, in other specified recording tracks, respectively, and fed to respective FM demodulators 42 and 43.
