GLIDING AND SEALING PAIR OF COMPONENTS

Gliding and sealing pair of components of mechanically resistant materials such as sintered aluminium oxide are ground and lapped on their adjacent surfaces. At least one surface (1) exhibits a microwave pattern, at least in places. The microwave pattern can be produced by chemical or thermal corrosion. As a chemical corrosive, H3Po4 is used; for heat corrosion the temperature ranges between 1,400 and 1,560C.
