PURPOSE:To improve the precision of a product and suppress the generation rate of defects to a low value by machining a visual-power correcting tool material in the frozen and attached state onto a chuck body made of metal. CONSTITUTION:A chuck body 1 is held at an exceedingly low temperature in liquid nitrogen, etc. Since the chuck body 1 is made of metal, the whole chuck body 1 is cooled in a short time to the temperature of liquid nitrogen by immersing the top edge of the chuck body 1 into liquid nitrogen. The chuck body is installed onto a machining apparatus body through a heat insulating body 5 arranged at the rear part of the chuck body 1 cooled at the temperature of liquid nitrogen. Further, a material set into a prescribed swelling state is attached onto the nearly semispherical concaved part 2 at the top edge of the chuck body 1. Then, the material in swollen state is sharply refrigerated in a moment by the setting of the chuck body 1 at the temperature of liquid nitrogen, and attached onto the chuck body 1. |
