PURPOSE:To make a work grindable in a highly accurate manner, by calculating a degree of pressing force being in close relation to grinding capacity of a grindstone with form information and grinding depth information to be inputted in advance as considering a grinding angle of the grindstone, and grinding the work according to this calculated result. CONSTITUTION:Grinding information is instructed (P1) to a control unit in advance, and a grindstone rotating with pressing force based on this instructed grinding information is pressed to a work, thus grinding for the work takes place (P2). At this time, a grinding performance angle to the work is calculated (PA) from the form information instructed as this grinding information and the present position of the grindstone. Next, according to the pressing force to be calculated out of this calculated grinding performance angle and pressing force to be calculated out of the grinding depth information instructed as the grinding information, the grindstone is pressed to the work, thus the work is accurately ground in a manner conformable to the desired form, grinding depth and surface roughness.
