PURPOSE:To measure accurately the azimuth error of a magnetic head without a specific skilled operator by providing a noise block at both sides of a data block. CONSTITUTION:The noise blocks 31-37 and 41-47 are installed at both sides of the data blocks 21-27, and their inclinations of the noise blocks with respect to the data blocks are opposite each other. The readout output of data information from the noise block at one side with respect to the readout output of data information from the blocks 21-27 is large, while the readout output from the other side is small. In terms of the total of the readout outputs from the blocks 21-27, 31-37 and 41-47, a change in the output value with respect to the inclination becomes large. Thus the azimuth error of the magnetic head can be accurately measured without specific testing equipment and the specific skilled operator.
