PURPOSE:To prevent the short pass of a heat exchange medium and to improve the heat transfer performance thereof by forming projections for surge resistance between wave form parts of the plate and rims at the peripheral edge parts thereof. CONSTITUTION:In a plate 1, projections 11 for surge resistance are extended and formed at predetermined intervals between the wave form parts 2 of the heat transfer surface and rims 7 so that these projections 11 are on the same plane as the rims 7. The tip ends of the projections 11 are caused to invade into the wave form parts 2. When a plurality of the plates 1 having the above construction are laminated one upon another, parts (a) in which projections 11 of the plate 1 adjacent to a cylindrical passage 10 abut against with each other, are formed and the short pass of the heat exchange medium at the cylindrical passage 10 is prevented by the abutting portions (a). Thus, when projections for surge resistance are provided between the wave form parts of the plate and the rims at the peripheral edge parts thereof, the short pass of the heat exchange medium can be prevented, and hence the heat transfer performance is improved.
