PURPOSE:To elongate fuel cut time for improving fuel consumption by carrying out lock-up in fuel cut to release the lock-up in fuel recovery. CONSTITUTION:When a vehicle shifts from drive travelling to inertia one, an engine 1 is subjected to fuel cut which is detected by a fuel cut detecting means 3 and then lock-up operation is carried out by a lock-up controlling means 5. On the other hand, when the engine 1 is subjected to fuel recovery which is detected by a fuel recovery detecting means 4, then the lock-up is released by a lock-up controlling means 5. Since the rotational frequency of the engine can be increased by the lock-up, fuel cut time can be elongated to improve fuel consumption. |
