PURPOSE:To produce deashed coal having less ash content in high yield by compressing fine coal particles with air or N2, prepg. slurry of the coal with liquid saturated with the same gas, and then decompressing to atmospheric pressure. CONSTITUTION:Dry coal particles having several mm. particle size are compressed in a tank 4 with air or N2 to compress the air or N2 into fine voids of the coal particles. A slurry is prepd. by adding liquid saturated with the air or N2 to the coal particles in a slurry producing apparatus 6. Finally, the slurry is transferred to a separating tank 9 where it is decompressed to atmospheric pressure. Deashed coal particles are made to float on the liquid surface and separated and collected. By this process, low ash coal is produced in high yield. |
