PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a keyboard and to perform quickly and accurately the selection of input characters and conversion of various types of characters, by using a foot switch to share in the conventional finger operations for selection, etc. of input characters. CONSTITUTION:A foot switch 3 is used for switch of input HIRAGANA (Japanese syllabary), KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary) and alphanumeris respectively and operated by the right foot. While a foot switch 4 is operated by the left foot for conversion between HIRAGANA and KANJI. Furthermore the switch 3 functions to switch the input characters with each push in the order of HIRAGANA, KATAKANA, alphanumerics, etc. Thus an operator can select an input character just by pushing the switch 3 with his/her foot. The KANJI conversion is possible just with foot operations of the switch 4. Thus, the constitution of a keyboard is simplified together with reduction of misoperations and input operations of character data. Then a quick and accurate input operation is possible with character data.
