PURPOSE:To prevent a melting away of an outer formation, by forming areas of the secondary process apart to the inside from the areas of the primary sealing process, when the outside of the outer formation covering generating elements is heated and welded to seal up. CONSTITUTION:Generating elements, consisting of a negative electrode 15, a positive electrode 19, a separator 18, and current collectors 14 and 17, are placed on a layer 22 of a polyester nonwoven fabric 12 and a polyethylene film 11, covered with an outer formation 2 formed of an aluminum foil 10 and a polyester film 9, and then closed up tightly to make a flat cell. In this case, the side brims 4 and 5 are heated and pressured, then an electrolyte is poured, and the brim 6-1 of the opening is heated and pressured at a low pressure, in the primary sealing process. After that, the portions 7, apart to the inside from the areas 4, 5, and 6-1, are heated and pressured in the secondary sealing process, and then sealed up. Therefore, any portion of the outer formation 2 is never melted away despite its thin formation, improving its anti-leakage property. |
