METHOD FOR EXCHANGING TUNDISH OF MOVING MOLD TYPE CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To exchange quickly tundishes without using a crane by disposing the plural tundishes in the inlet of a continuous casting machine and rotating or shifting sideways the tundishes by a moving device. CONSTITUTION:A screw shaft 20 is driven by a motor to move a piece along the shaft 20 thereby retreating the tundish 18. A turntable 8 is then driven by a motor and is rotated horizontally 180 deg.. A screw shaft 21 is thereafter driven by a motor to move a piece 24 along the shaft 21 and to advance the tundish 19 engaged with the piece 24 via an engaging part 27 thereby inserting the pouring nozzle 17 of the tundish 19 into the spacing between casting molds 3 and 3 after width adjustment.
