PURPOSE:To obtain the Zr-base alloy causing no nodular corrosion under the high-temp. and high-pressure water or steam environment of a nuclear reactor by arranging and precipitating the precipitates in the prescribed range in an alloy having a specific composition consisting of Sn, Fe, Cr, Ni, Nb, V, Ti, and Zr. CONSTITUTION:Tubes, rods, plates and the like of a Zr-base alloy are composed of the nodular corrosion resisting Zr-base alloy which has a chemical composition consisting of, by weight, 1.0-2.0% Sn, 0.05-0.20% Fe, 0.05-0.20% Cr, 0% or 0.03-0.1% Ni, and 0.03-2.0% of >=1 kind among Nb, V, and Ti, and the balance Zr and in which the precipitates in its alloy structure are arranged and precipitated in the prescribed range. In the manufacturing process, the above alloy is subjected to solution heat treatment by cooling rapidly from the temp. including beta phase before hot plastic working, preferably to further solution heat treatment after the hot plastic working, and then to final annealing at high temp., so as to form the precipitates with prescribed arrangement to manufacture the excellent nodular corrosion resisting Zr-base alloy.
