1,002,318. Solvent recovery; dry-cleaning apparatus. M. BOHLER, and F. WEBER, [trading as BOHLER & WEBER A.G.]. Oct. 22, 1962 [Nov. 4, 1961], No. 39941/62. Heading BIB. Solvent is recovered from dry-cleaning drum 2 by passing a stream of hot air through it, drawing the mixture of air and solvent vapour into blower 4 which feeds it into surface condenser 7 where most of the solvent is condensed, conducting the air and condensate to zone 9 where water (or other liquid) is sprayedin through nozzle 10, and returning the air to the drum 2 via heater 8 and shaft 12. The mixture of water and condensed solvent is withdrawn through pipe 18. Excessive drying of the goods in drum 2 is prevented by operating in the manner indicated. In Fig. 4, the water is sprayed from nozzle 10 in the direction of a fabric 16 made of textile threads or metal wires. The spraying-nozzle may be coupled with an hygrometer which sets the nozzle in operation when the moisture conditions in the drum 2 have dropped below a determined value. |
