PURPOSE:To measure shaft displacement with a simple construction, by installing pressing means of different pressing forces on both ends of a shaft and by jointing one means to a position detection sensor and by detecting its position with reference of the pressing time by the pressing means of weaker force. CONSTITUTION:The ON position of a controlling apparatus 54 causes lifting of the No.1 air cylinder 24 and displacement of a moving bench 23. Accordingly, connecting cylinder 27 and position detecting sensor 4 are lifted up toward the bottom surface of a rotating body 15. A detecting signal of the sensor 4 is introduced into a digital counter 48 for display, however, it is reset to the zero position by an apparatus 54. Next, after resetting,the No.2 cylinder 35 comes down allowing a receiving body 39 to descend by a moving bench 38. Further, an upper lifting-up rod 42 provided on the receiving body 39 is brought to a contact with the upper end surface of the rotating shaft 16 in the condition under which pressure of a cylinder 35 is applied. A position detecting signal of the lower surface of the shaft 16 in the condition under which a rod 42 applied pressure on the lower end surface of the shaft 16 is introduced in a counter 48 for display, and it is compared with the set value by a comparetor 55 and judment is given at the apparatus 54 whether the display is acceptable.
