PURPOSE:To speed up the selection and switching of a word line with a relatively simple constitution by pulling out the charge of the word line directly from the word line side. CONSTITUTION:When either of row selecting signal A or B becomes 'H', that is, an operation is shifted to the non-selective state from the selective state, the action of a word line driver 2 is stopped to interrupt a drive current Id to the word line WH, and the potential Vw of the word line WH begins to drop. However, a charge sweep circuit 3 will not stop its action even if the row selecting signals A and B are switched in the non-selective state, and maintain the state immediately before the switching. This means that the circuit 3 acts after the delay of the prescribed short time td behind the word line driver 2, and pulls out instantaneously the remaining charge of the word line WH the moment the word line driver 2 stops its action. Thus the potential Vw of the word line WH can rise quickly, and accordingly the switching from the selection to nonselection can be speed up. |
