The phase difference angle deltae between the system voltage and infinite bus voltage is determined from the data P, Q, Vt and the assumptive value Xe of the equiv. reactance in a block 3 in succession to the above. The phase difference angle delta*e is similarly determined in a block 4 from the data omegat and the assumptive value Xe. Such assumptive value Xe at which both signals coincide is determined and is outputted as the estimated reactance value. Then the easy determination of the equiv. reactance is made possible.
