PURPOSE:To correct the control center of an ignition timing to the center of a control range and to improve fuel consumption and prevent the occurrence of transient knocking, by a method wherein, when the control center of the ignition timing is displaced from the center of a control range to the delay side, delay correction is applied on a valve timing. CONSTITUTION:Lead angle control or delay angle control is effected on the ignition timing of an internal-combustion engine 2 by a knocking control device 1 by means of a signal from a knocking sensor 1', and this prevents the occurrence of knocking. In this device, a valve timing control means 3 is provided for controlling the valve timing of the variable valve timing mechanism of the internal-combustion engine 2. Additionally,, a detecting means 5 is provided for detecting that an ignition timing controlled by the knocking control device 1 is regulated closer to the angle of delay side than a given value. The valve timing control means 3 is controlled by a valve timing delay setting means 6 so that the ignition time is adjusted to a valve timing on the angle of delay side by means of a signal from the detecting means 5. |
