PURPOSE:To prevent the intrusion of the taken-up which is cut, by installing a paper holding needle and a paper cutter which projects inside a space part towards the direction of revolution direction, at the edge parts on the both sides in the radial direction of a rotary body having the space part for the pass of the taken-up paper. CONSTITUTION:A rotary body 4 having a space part 5 is arranged in front of a printing trunk 6, and the cutter 7 of a rotary body 4 is positioned at the front side in the direction of advance of a sheet of printing paper 1, and the cutting edge is positioned on the upper side so as not to contact with the paper 1, and also a holding needle 8 is fixed at a stop position so as to be put into noncontact state, and then printing is carried-out by allowing the taken-up paper 1 to pass through the space 5. When exhaustion of paper is generated during printing, the rotary body 4 is turned in the direction of arrow, and the paper is cut by a saw-toothed cutter 7, and the top edge of the cut paper 1 is held by the needle 8, and the cut paper 1 is recovered through taking-up. Thus, the paper is prevented from being taken-up into the passage other than a regular passage, and the treatment operation after paper exhaustion can be facilitated.
