PURPOSE:To perform complicated laser beam machining easily and quickly by accommodating a laser beam machining head in a tool magazine of a machining center and providing a laser beam projecting means to irradiate the laser beam emitted by a laser beam generator. CONSTITUTION:In the case of laser beam machining performed by a machine tool being capable of laser beam machining, a tool magazine is indexed, and a laser beam machining head previously prepared in the tool magazine 14 is indexed at a tool taking out position P1. At the same time as machining carried out by a cutting tool 22 has been ended, a tool socket 21 holding the laser beam machining head is moved in parallel with a horizontal plane, and revolved in a vertical plane to position the laser beam machining head at a tool exchanging position P2. On the other hand, a spindle head 18 ascends to its original position for tool exchanging, and at the same time, the tool 22 on a main spindle is exchanged for the laser beam machining head by a tool exchanging device 19. The spindle head 18 fitted with the laser beam machining head descends, and then the laser beam is emitted by a laser beam generator 50 to perform the laser beam machining. |
