PURPOSE:To prevent the rebound of a plunger, by making flow a control current corresponding to the time required until a plunger is impinged to a platen after begun to drive. CONSTITUTION:When a plunger 1 is strongly repulses by a platen 5 because of high printing pressure, the time (t) before impingement becomes short. A brake signal generation circuit 16 increases a time width flowing a brake current (in order to apply the force directed to the platen 5 to the plunger 1), when the time before impingement is short, to apply large brake force and reduces the speed of the plunger 1, that is, the energy thereof. Therefore, impact force, at the point of time when the plunger 1 reached a stopper 6, is lowered and the rebound of the plunger 1 is prevented. |
