PURPOSE:To easily exchange ink ribbons by using a part constituting the case of an ink ribbon as a guide for recording papers. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 54 is put, together with a recording paper 90, into the space between a platen roller 22 and a thermal head 21 as the cover frame 10b is closed. When the frame 10b is opened from the body frame 10a, the platen roller 22 and guide plates 27a, 27b, 28a, and 28b are moved upwards, together with the frame 10b, and the housing of a recording paper holder 40 and an ink ribbon cassette 57 is exposed, whereby permitting the cassette 57 and the recording paper 90 to be set in the frame 10a. When the frame 10b is closed, the roller 22, a cutter 23, and the plates 27a, 27b, 28a, and 28b are restored to home positions. The replacement of the ink ribbons can thus be made easier. |
