PURPOSE:To facilitate adjustments, by making the cross-section of a scale in a rectangle, guiding a division bearing plane and its parallel plane among the four planes of the scale by sliding member and two planes in the perpendicular directions by rolling bearings respectively. CONSTITUTION:In order to adjust guiding smoothness of a scale 1, an adjusting block 11 is displaced in the direction perpendicular to the division bearing plane of the scale 1 by untightening screws 12, 12' and they are tightened back, after such adjustment that, sliding conditions of sliding members 9, 9', 10, 10' and the scale 1 were optimized. By turning an eccentric shaft 15, the rolling bearing 16 is displaced in the direction perpendicular to above direction, adjusting thus the sliding conditions of the rolling bearings 14, 16 on the scale 1 are optimized and the eccentric shaft 15 is fixed with adhesive or with set screws and nut (both not illustrated). As the rolling bearings absorb errors in the right angle of the scale 1, the displacements of the scale 1 become pronouncedly smooth. |
