PURPOSE:To obtain a twisted wire made of a carbon steel and alloy steel having excellent feeding property, weldability, etc. by limiting respectively the tensile strength, twisting pitch and lubricating oil deposition of the wire within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The twisted wire is manufactured by using the strands of the carbon steel consisting essentially of <=0.20% C, <=1.50% Si, 0.30<=Mn<=2.50%, etc. and the alloy steel, etc. contg. a suitable ratio each of Cr, Mo, Ni, etc. The tensile strength over the entire part of the twisted wire is made >=70kg.f/ mm<2> in order to increase the feed speed of the wire and the upper limit thereof is kept at 160kg.f/mm<2> in order to avert the increase in the feed resistance in a conduit. The twisting pitch is set at 15-45(d) with respect to the diameter (d) of the strand to minimize the feed resistance. The lubricating oil deposition is limited to >=150ppm to prevent the generation of blowholes. The wire which provides good welding efficiency and is free from weld defects is thus obtd. |
