PURPOSE:To prevent a such a risk that a vehicle unexpectedly moves backward due to a failure of a position switch at the backward gear shift position of a shift control lever, by connecting another positioning gear in parallel with the afore-mentioned switch. CONSTITUTION:In addition to a position switch R at the backward position of a shift control lever, another position switch Rs is connected in parallel with the afore-mentioned switch. Accordingly, the number of all position switches including the one for the forward first number of all position is nine. When all switches Rs through 1 are normal, either one of switches N, D, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 is selectively operated, excepting that the switches R, Rs are simultaneously operated. Accordingly, an arrangement is made such that the mode of backward movement of a vehicle may be established only when the two switchs R, Rs are simultaneously closed, thereby it is possible to enhance the reliability and soundness of speed change mode. |
