MATERIAL FOR SPECTACLE FRAME

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a material for spectable frames having superior machinability and cold workability by adding a specified amount of Ag to a low-C Ni-Cr alloy. CONSTITUTION:The C content in an Ni alloy consisting of 3-20wt% Cr, 0.1-5wt% Cu, 0.01-2wt% Al and the balance Ni as a material for spectacle frames is reduced to <=0.03wt%, and 0.8-1.5wt% Ag is added. The machinability of the Ni alloy is improved by adding Ag, and deterioration in the cold workability caused by the added Ag is prevented by making the C content as low as possible. The resulting Ni alloy is suitable for use as a material for spectacle frames requiring very high workability.
