This vial is used to prepare specimens for diagnostic test. The vial includes a sample-dilution container (20), a specimencollection/ dispensation top (50) and a microfiltration filter. The container has an opening (34) to receive the specimen and manually squeezable side- wall (30). The opening can be closed by the collection/dispensation top including a cap and a collecting tool. The tool projects from the cap into the container. The cap has a dispenser tip with a through channel communicating with the container inside. The filter is positioned within the cap in the liquid path extending between the container and the dispenser tip.
