PURPOSE:To produce an air cell with improved discharge characteristics by dispersing an active carbon powder and active carbon fiber in the internal spaces of sintered bodies made of an organic binder in such a manner as to cause these active carbons to be bound or unbound to each other. CONSTITUTION:A gas-diffusing electrode for an air cell is manufactured by dispersing active carbon in the internal space of each sintered body 1 made of an organic binder. Both an active carbon powder 3 and active carbon fiber 4 are used as the active carbon contained in the organic sintered bodies 1 for the gas-diffusing electrode. The active carbon 3 and 4 are bound or unbound to each other in the continuous hole 2 of each sintered body 1. They are kneaded with the binder after being dispersed in the space 4 of each sintered body 1. As a result, the advantages of the active carbons 3 and 4 are effectually exhibited, thereby achieving improved discharge characteristics of the air cell. |
