PURPOSE:To optionally and selectively print, output and control an adding information by adding information such as explanation to an optional word in a document. CONSTITUTION:A word processor has a means for providing a specific discriminating symbol to words respectively requiring adding information in a document, a means for inputting the adding information of the words respectively, a means for retaining these inputted adding information groups, a means for designating the word having the adding information therein and a means for reading and printing and outputting the adding information corresponding to the designated word from the retention means. The adding information such as explanation which is the optional word in the document is printed and outputted optionally and selectively.
