PURPOSE:To obtain a resin compsn. which is stable until the purpose of use is accomplished, and is gradually deteriorated and degraded by the action of light and water after use, by adding xanthone, thioxanthone or anthraquinone to a polyolefin. CONSTITUTION:At least one member selected from among xanthone, thioxanthone and anthraquinone is added to a polyolefin. The term 'polyolefin' used herein refers to polymers and copolymers obtd. by polymerizing an olefin such as ethylene, propylene, or ethylene/vinyl acetate. Further, the polyolefin include compsn. contg. different kinds of resins such as butyl rubber or polystyrene and additives such as pigment, antioxidant, flame retarder, etc. Said degradation promoter is used in a quantity of pref. 0.01-5.0% based on that of the polyolefin from the viewpoints of effect and economy.
