摘要 PURPOSE:To contrive to enhance activity by a reduced amount of a catalyst, by obtaining a catalyst by forming perovskite type composite oxide by a sputtering method and forming the thin film of said composite oxide to an inorg. heat resistant fiber. CONSTITUTION:In a relatively small catalytic combustion device utilized as a household heating source or a heating source for a small scale factory, an oxidizing catalyst body 4 is obtained by a method wherein a predetermined amount of oxide of a transition metal such as cobalt or nickel and oxide of a rare earth metal such as lanthanum or praseodymium are mixed and the resulting mixture is irradiated with ion beam while the thin film of the formed composite oxide is formed to an inorg. heat resistant fiber comprising a metal, alumina or Silica. This oxidizing catalyst body 4 is preheated to 300-400 deg.C by a preheater and a gaseous mixture of air and carbon dioxide is flowed to the heated catalyst. Whereupon, the gaseous mixture is catalytically oxidized on the catalyst body 4 to be converted to carbon dioxide and steam. Heat generated at this time is utilized as a heating source.
