<p>PURPOSE:To measure the distance and wheel velocity switching them according to the state with only one radar system, by detecting the distance from a reflector based on the electromagnetic wave propagation delay time and the moving condition thereof based on changes in the electromagnetic wave frequency depending on whether the vehicle speed reaches a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A movement detecting means 9 is selected before the vehicle speed of own vehicle is detected with a vehicle speed detecting means 1 ad a control means 3 to reach a specified value and detects the moving state of a reflector due to Doppler effect from the difference in the frequency between the transmitted electromagnetic wave from a transmitting/receiving means 5 and the received electromagnetic wave from the reflector. On the other hand, as the vehicle speed exceeds a set value, a distance detecting means 7 is selected to calculate the distance to the reflector from propagation delay time of the transmitted and received electromagnetic waves. Thus, the distance and vehicle speed can be measured switching them properly according to the state of vehicle speed with one radar system.</p> |
