PURPOSE:To securely hold a seating person on a seat in running, and make it easy to get off a car, by designing to lift and lower an upper surface of a laterally intermediate portion of a seat cushion provided with projecting side support portions at both sides thereof. CONSTITUTION:A seat cushion 10 is constituted of a seat frame 12, a seat pad 13 supported on the seat frame 12, and an outer cover 15 covering the seat frame 12 and the seat pad 13. Side support portions 16 for holding a seating person are projected at both sides of the seat cushion 10. The seat pad 13 is constituted of a body portion 18 forming an outer periphery of the seat cushion 10 and a central portion 19 surrounded by the body portion 18. A jack 21 is supported through a bracket 20 to a seat rail 3, and a lifting seat plate 26 is mounted to a screw 25 to be rotated by a DC motor 24. The central portion 19 is supported on the lifting seat plate 26. Thus, an upper surface of the laterally intermediate portion of the seat cushion 10 may be lifted and lowered.
