PURPOSE:To enhance steam turbine generator output and overall power plant thermal efficiency by adding a hydrocarbon fuel into waste gas containing the residual oxygen from a gas turbine generator and raising the temperature of the waste gas by catalystic combusion using a catalystic combustion reactor. CONSTITUTION:A catalystic combusion reactor 6 is installed on the way of a duct 5 so as to conduct the waste gas from a gas turbine 1 to a waste heat boiler 2 and a hydrocarbon fuel is supplied to the reactor 6 through a fuel injection nozzle 9 provided on the gas supply side thereof. Since the waste gas from gas turbine generators 1 normally contains residual oxygen, the added hydrocarbon fuel undergoes catalystic combustion in the catalytic combustion reactor 6 in the presence of the catalyst, increasing the temperature of the gas. Thus, increased thermal energy is supplied to the waste heat boiler 2, which enhances the output of the steam turbine generator 3 and maintains overall power plant thermal efficiency at a higher level. |
