PURPOSE:To enable to knead resin during kneading at the most suitable degree of kneading by holding constant back pressure always, by a method wherein the back pressure of the resin during kneading is detected and adjustment of a gap in a kneading chamber is performed by performing automatically movement of a kneading screw in an axial direction so that the back presusre becomes identical with predetermined pressure. CONSTITUTION:A kneading chamber 4 is provided with a pressure detector 5 detecting back pressure of heated and softened resin during kneading, which has been filled out the inside of the kneading chamber 4. Detected output of the pressure detector 5 is applied to a comparator 7, also established output of a pressure setting device 6 setting up necessary back pressure of the inside of the kneading chamber 4 is applied to the comparator 7, which is compared with the detected output of the pressure detector 5 and a deviation between the detected pressure and established pressure is applied to an integrator 8. The integrator 8 integrates deviation output and drives a servovalve 10 by amplifying by an amplifier 9. The servovalve 10 feeds hydraylic oil from a hydraulic pressure source 11 to a transfer device 12 of a screw based on the deviation between the established pressure and detected pressure which are results of comparison by the comparator 7. |
