EXAMPLE:N-Cocyl-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-N',N'-bis (sodiocarboxymethyl)ethylenedia mine. USE:Surface active agent: it is used as a surface active agent in shampoo, sham poo for babies, domestic detergent, shampoo for pets, bubble bath cleaner and acidic shampoo. PREPARATION:The reaction of a compound of formula II (R' is H, 1-4C alkyl) with aminoethylethanol is carried out at 80-170 deg.C, further 180-220 deg.C to give a condensate of formula III and the condensate is allowed to react with a monohalogenated acetic acid at a pH of 7-12 to give a compound of formula I. |
