PURPOSE:To execute the data transfer with a simple constitution by receiving a terminal number at a PABX side to be connected from the data terminal of the remote area and connecting a modulating demodulating device and the designated data terminal through private exchange network. CONSTITUTION:When the data are transferred from a data terminal 14 of the remote area to data terminals 2 and 3 at a PABX side, first, by an instruction from a terminal 14, a trunk line trunk 11 is called from a modulating demodulating device 13 through a public line network 12. The trunk 11 calls a data transferring control device 7, and returns an answer tone from the device 7 to the modulating demodulating device 13. The modulating demodulating device 13 connects a line to the data terminal 14. From the terminal 14, terminal numbers #1 and #2 of the terminals 2 and 3 are transmitted to a PABX side. The device 7 connects terminals 16 and 17 through a line circuit 8 for the data, establishes a data transfer line with the terminal 14 and the terminals 2 and 3.
